Born and raised in Tuscany, Patrizia spent over thirty years in hospitality, working as a receptionist and concierge while riding and training horses in her free time. Long before e-bikes, she was already exploring Tuscany’s dry riverbeds by mountain bike. She later moved to the United States, where she ran a successful gelato business for nine years — always dreaming of the day she’d return home. That homecoming became Terra Toscana Tours.

Born and raised in Germany, Carolina has lived, studied and worked across different countries and cultures, including Colombia and Canada, before settling in Italy, where she has been based for the past ten years. Her international background is complemented by a multidisciplinary education in Law, Management, and the planning and management of Mediterranean tourism systems. This multicultural journey has given her a natural understanding of international travellers and a strong appreciation for the connections between people, places and experiences. At Terra Toscana Tours, Carolina brings together her international perspective, strategic and organisational skills, and passion for authentic, sustainable tourism, creating thoughtfully designed experiences that reveal Tuscany beyond the usual paths.

Born in Philadelphia, William has spent much of his life following two passions: cycling and travel. He worked as a tour leader for respected cycling companies across Europe and Canada, taught in international schools, and took part in restoration projects in France and Italy. He later conducted wolf research in the northern Apennines before beginning a second career as a registered nurse in Maine. He holds degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies — knowledge he now shares with guests on every ride, pointing out Tuscany’s flora, fauna and Mediterranean ecosystem along the way. Today, William leads tours for Terra Toscana Tours, bringing decades of guiding experience back to the roads where his passion for cycling first took root
